Neural Development

The brain is a dynamic and evolving organism that is constantly adapting to its environment. By stimulating the brain with binaural beats, new and positive neural pathways are generated. This is caused by the new growth of dendrites, which are the connecting pathways between neurons. This in turn creates efficient communication between all areas of the brain. When this occurs, long term emotional issues are resolved and then brain will operate at its peak.

The brain also creates more balanced brainwaves as the two hemispheres work together to calculate the binaural beats. This is known as 'whole brain functioning' or 'hemispheric synchronisation'. This is important to maintain brain plasticity and keep the connections between the different areas of the brain active.

Neurotransmitters are the chemical messengers between neurons. Research shows that meditative states release and balance levels of many different beneficial neurotransmitters.

Neurotransmitter Function
5-HT (serotonin) regulates mood & behaviour, sleep & appetite
Acetylcholine assists memory, motivation, perception and cognition
Dopamine regulates muscle control and balance; assists cognition; also linked with pleasurable feelings
Endogenous Morphine (endorphins) the body’s natural pain killers
Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) Induces relaxation & sleep
Melatonin regulates sleep patterns
Hormone Function
DHEA produced by the adrenal glands; reduces the effects of stress related hormones, such as cortisol; may be linked to anti-aging; enhances the immune system and neural connections
Human Growth Hormone (HGH) produced by the pituitary gland; may be linked to anti-aging; play an important role in early brain development, maturation and function.
